Frequently Asked Question pertaining to Casa Panoramica
Q:How far is Casa Panoramica to Old Town?
A:By walking along the water’s edge on the Maleconcito, “Little Boardwalk” over the Rio Cuale Bridge to the Malecon, “The Boardwalk” will take approximately 10 – 15 minutes, depending on the walking pace. This area of town is called “El Centro”, which is where the Municipal Plaza and the outdoor Los Arcos amphitheater is located.
Q:How far is the beach?
A:The beaches located closest to Casa Panoramica are Playa de Los Muertos and Playa Olas Altas. There are approximately three blocks to get to the beach.
Q:Is the water safe to drink there at the house?
A:The water here in Puerto Vallarta has been tested and is actually one of the cleanest supply of water in Mexico. We however, still do not recommend drinking the water directly from the taps. We supply each room with free purified water and there is also a water cooler located in the dining/kitchen area. You may brush your teeth, rinse etc. with the water from the taps.
Q:I would like to cook a special meal for my partner/loved one. Can I use the kitchen?
A:Of course! The kitchen is completely stocked with cookware items you might need. You are free to cook any meal at any time for yourself. You may also use the refrigerator to store food items or drinks. If you need anything, please let the house manager know. We can also arrange for a private chef.
Q:Have a request, but not sure how to ask?
A:Please feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience for any special requests by email or by telephone – our house manager will help if he can as well.
Q:Are children accepted?
A:Yes, children are more than welcome to come stay with you during your stay at Casa Panoramica. Baby cribs and high chairs are not currently available at Casa Panoramica. Children under the age of 16 are not allowed to be left unattended at the house.
Q:Are pets allowed?
A:We do not allow pets during your stay with us. However, we have a great contact if you are traveling with your pet. The business owner has a fenced yard and play area for your pet, and there are NO cages! Please let us know in advance and we can check for availability.
Q:Is it noisy? Can I get a good nights sleep?
A:Casa Panoramica is located along the road to Mismaloya, just minutes away from the beaches and the Romantic zone where there are many restaurants, stores, boutiques and amenities. However, all of our guest rooms have double paned windows and doors that face the road. Mexico, in general, is not a quiet country, and there will inherently be some noise.
Q:Are there a lot of stairs?
A:Casa Panoramica was constructed over 40 years ago on the side of the mountain in the area now called Amapas. It’s unique location provides amazing panoramic views from all over the house, where there are steps to get to each of our four floors. The residence is not designed for people who have difficulty with mobility. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Q:What currency is the best to use? Should we exchange money to pesos before we arrive? Can you change my money to local currency or back to my currency when I leave?
A:Paying in cash is always preferred in most locations (pesos or USD). If you decide to pay in US dollars, expect the exchange rate to be lower than what you will get at the bank. Credit cards are accepted at larger stores and restaurants. Traveler’s checks are rarely used and the majority of places will not accept them, including banks. There are ATM’s located at the airport and many areas in and around town to get local currency when needed. There are several places you can exchange your money and some banks will also do this service for you. (Remember, most banks require passports to exchange money)
Q:If my schedule/plan changes, do you offer refunds?
A:We will work with you. Best to contact us directly as soon as possible.
